Group assignments

For lab reports and team projects, grade the group's work once and the result lands on every member.

How it works

1. Enable group submissions on the assignment.
2. Students are organized into groups, and one submission represents each group. One student can submit on behalf of the whole team.
3. You grade the group's submission exactly like an individual one: same rubric, same grading view.
4. On release, the grade, rubric items, and comments flow to every member of the group, including the Canvas gradebook columns for each student.

Managing groups

Set up groups when configuring the assignment, and adjust membership before grading begins.

Late changes

If a member joins or leaves a group after grading, update the membership and the grade flow follows the current membership at release.
