Group assignments
One submission stands in for the team. Every member is graded from it.
For lab reports and team projects, InteGrade lets a single submission stand in for a whole team, so you grade the work once instead of once per student.
Two kinds of group
Pick the kind when you create the group. They behave very differently.

A shared group names one member as the submitter. Their work becomes the team's submission, and the other members, the co-authors, do not upload anything of their own.
A tag group is a colored label. Everyone still submits and is graded individually, and the tag simply lets you filter the grading queue so you can work through one team's papers together.
If you need to give one member a different score from another, use a tag group. A shared group carries a single grade by design, and there is no way to adjust it per member.
Setting up a group
- Open the assignment's submissions list.
- Select Manage groups.
- Create a shared group or a tag group, and name it.
- Add members from your roster. For a shared group, mark one member as the submitter.
There is no setting to switch on first: create a group whenever you need one, on any assignment. Groups are yours to define, and students cannot form their own.
You can also drop a student into a tag group from the grading view, without leaving the paper you are on.
Grading and what each member receives
Grade a shared group's submission exactly like an individual one: same rubric, same grading view.
Each member's result is then read from that one submission:
- Share links. A link sent to a co-author opens the team's graded work, with the rubric and your comments.
- Grade exports. Every member gets their own row in the CSV. When an assignment has shared groups, the export adds a "Graded via" column naming the member who submitted.
Canvas gradebook
Only the member who submitted receives a score in the Canvas gradebook. Co-authors are not written back, so record their grades in Canvas yourself, or work from the CSV export.
Changing a group after grading
Membership is read fresh every time, so adding or removing a member takes effect straight away, whether or not grades are already released.
Two things do not catch up on their own:
- A share link you have already sent keeps the content it had when you created it. Send a fresh link after a membership change.
- Canvas scores are not posted again.
